St. John’s Staff Directory

Pastor Tom Redig has been a pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church since the fall of 2019. First, he was hired as the interim Pastor at St. John’s and then was officially called there in December of the same year. Because of COVID, he was not officially ordained until July 11, 2020. Pastor Tom is a second career pastor. He was a Chemistry Teacher at Downers Grove North High School from 1986 to 2011. He also coached boy’s swimming and soccer. Because of a progressive illness, he was no longer able to teach. However, God was not done with him. God directed him to start a Master’s of Divinity program at Olivet Nazarene University. After completing this program, he started the process of becoming a Pastor in the Lutheran tradition. In 2017, he completed his Lutheran year at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. After completing this year, he did an internship in Greenville, MI. Pastor Tom believes not only meeting the needs of his own congregation, but also reaching out to the community. He comments, “All you have to do is to look around our church. We are surrounded by neighborhoods. I feel like we are truly a community church” Pastor Tom is married to his wife Patty. He has two grown girls and three grandchildren. He is very easy to spot. He is the one in the scooter.

Hi! My name is Monica Nedza. I have been a member of St. John’s for 22 years, and a custodian for nearly two years. My husband always lists cleaning as my favorite hobby! My goal working at St. John’s is to make our church clean, comfortable, and welcoming to all who enter. It is an honor to be a custodian in God’s house!

I joined St. John's in 1983. I am currently the Sunday school coordinator and part-time custodian. I enjoy keeping God's house clean and welcoming to all.

Eloide joined St. John’s staff in April 1994 and enjoys the variety of responsibilities that come with the position. Whether answering the phone, greeting visitors or creating newsletters, she feel that the best part of the job is developing relationships with our members. Her hours are 8:00-noon and 1-2:30 Monday thru Friday.

I started as the Audio-Video Technician when COVID shut down our church. I enjoy being able to offer our members and those in the community another way to worship. Our Saturday evening service is live-streamed on our YouTube channel - St. John's Lutheran Church, Peru.

I’ve been an organist/pianist and choir accompanist at St. John’s church since 1990. I worked at LP High School as the choral accompanist for 27 years and retired in May 2024. I teach private piano lessons. I live in Peru with my husband, Rich. We have a daughter and son and one granddaughter.
