After eating my piece of pie, I am officially on vacation.  Let me tell you what happened on Sunday. Do you ever have one of those days that it stinks being you.  I’m tired, hurting and just want to crawl back in bed.  I go to gratitude when I am in one of these moods.  I have so much to be thankful for.  I started listing them but it wasn’t doing the trick.  I still had about an hour to go before the church service.  It wasn’t going to be good.

Sometimes I wonder where is God?  Many times, I feel I need Him and He doesn’t show up.  Not this time.  I received a beautiful text that lifted my spirits.  Maybe I can get through the service.

Then, as we were setting up a young man drove up and delivered three pies.  WOW!  He said this is just what he does.  It wasn’t solicited in any way.  He wanted to know if we needed more?  I told him three was enough.  It was hot outside, but many people came into our air- conditioned lounge and ate pie and talked (In that order).

Okay, I get it God. Thank you for helping me.  I use this many times when I talk about God’s character as “steadfast love.”  I needed it today.  God answered my crumbs of prayers with abundance.  I don’t know where the quote came from but it goes something like this, “Once our God starts doing good, he doesn’t know when to stop.” Very true.  But it gets better.

I received a text from another anonymous donor who wants to match our next thousand dollars.  We are back to $1 = $4.  My prayers were crumbs…crumbs.  God answered with more than I can imagine.  Go figure.  That is the God that we worship.

What a beautiful baby.  Valerie Grace Baker was just adorable.  Her eyes were taking everything in.  What a beautiful baby.  Mom and Dad should be very proud. I had a chance to observe them afterwards, you can just tell they love their child.  Another child of God.  Oh, Grandpa and Grandma are pretty proud also.

We are up to 9 minutes in our quiet time with God.  Try to just sit in his presence for 9 minutes.

Almost done.  For various reasons, some unknown, the IL Valley Ramp Builders are getting kicked out of their storage facility.  So, they are looking for another one.  If you know anyone who is not using a large shed, please give Don Anderson a call or call Eloide at the church office.

Just a reminder, our church is still working.  If you have any pastoral needs, Paul Baker and Dave Kromphardt will take care of them while I am gone.  Call them or call Eloide at the church office.

Crossed marked and spirit sealed,

Pastor Tom
