Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
First, I was able to eat my favorite cheeseburger from Culver’s. Second, I had a lot of fun fellowshipping with the members of our church. Oh, by the way, we collected over five hundred dollars for the capital campaign. Thank you to all of you who participated in the Culver’s Care night. Very nice.
I mentioned on Sunday during the worship service how I love the rhythm of the church. No matter what is going on, the church of Jesus Christ keeps moving on. This Sunday, Caroline Kays received her first communion. We talked the week before, and she was ready. Loved seeing all the family she brought along.
After the service, Ron Steele was baptized alongside his wife, Sheryl. Sort of neat that I married them about a year ago.
I am sad to inform you that Judy Green passed away last week. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 at the Hurst Funeral Home. Then the family will have a luncheon at church at 12:00. She was such a big part of our church and friends with many. Most of you knew her very well, especially if you had children about twenty years ago. She was a big part of the children’s program. Funerals are also part of the rhythm.
This Sunday, we will be welcoming Ron and Phyllis Bangert as members of our church. If anyone wants to join St. John’s, just let us know, and we will put you on the list.
I think all we are missing is a marriage. Anyone?
Pictorial directories are now available on the table in the Narthex. Just a heads up, your name is on the back of the directory. I just noticed that last weekend.
Remember: God will never leave you.
We are living in the Easter Season and are always Easter people. Christ has Risen! He has risen indeed! Alleluia!
